| Ouachita National Forest covers 1.8 million acres from central Arkansas to southeastern Oklahoma. Shirley Rodgers Realty is located in Poteau, Oklahoma, a certified city about 30 miles West of Fort Smith, Arkansas. Poteau is the county seat of Leflore County, Oklahoma. The population of Leflore County is approximately 50,000 with approximately 8,000 residing in Poteau.
This area is rich with wildlife and year around outdoor activities including hiking, hunting, fishing, hang gliding, swimming, boating, ATVs, and equstrian events from trail riding to rodeo. This is a place where people come to get back to nature. We also have Carl Albert State College, the Robert S. Kerr Museum, conference center and bed-and-breakfast inn as well as Cavanal, the world's highest hill. Our taxes are low. Our climate is mild.
